Ashlee Simpson’s best friend is her boyfriend Pete Wentz

The 'Pieces of Me' singer Ashlee Simpson and the Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz has been dating for over a year. Now Ashlee Simpson says that they both are soul mates. Ashlee Simpson also insists that her boy friend Pete Wentz is her “best friend”.

Ashlee Simpson, the 23 year old singer, also claims that her 28 year old musician friend’s constant praise has helped her to be more confident in her work.

Ashlee comment on her best friend Pete Wentz as, “He's a great sounding board and very supportive. Pete and I compliment each other. We are best friends and we encourage each other. I think that is so important in any relationship - it builds a solid foundation." She also added that Starring as Roxie Hart in the London production of the musical 'Chicago' also boosted Simpson's self-esteem.

In an interview to the Cosmo Girl magazine she said, "There was a time when what people said about me could really get me down. But working on 'Chicago' helped me come into my own. The stage had been a dream of mine ever since I was a little girl, and being able to fulfill it was amazing. It taught me to be more comfortable with myself."

Ashlee has already two albums to her credit and her third album is due out next year.

According to Ashlee her best friend is Wentz, similarly Wentz also describes Ashlee as his best friend. Wentz recently revealed that Ashlee is his “best friend”.

According to the bassist Wentz, "We're past the honeymoon period. The truth is, it's crazy to be able to kiss your best friend. It's just a really awesome thing”. He also added, "People like to make our relationship seem different than to what it is. People will say, 'No one holds hands that much.' But I'm like, 'Why would you not want to touch the person that you're in love with?'
